Actor Kim Seon Ho has officially joined Fantagio, the agency representing ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo. However, reports of his recruitment fee—allegedly around $1.4 million—have sparked debate among fans, with many speculating that the move is tied to Cha Eun Woo’s impending military enlistment.

On March 6, Korean media outlet OSEN reported that Kim Seon Ho’s transfer to Fantagio came with a significant signing bonus. While the agency has not confirmed the exact amount, the investment has led to speculations that he might be stepping in to fill Cha Eun Woo’s absence once the ASTRO member enlists.

Fantagio responded to inquiries about the signing amount, stating, “It is difficult to confirm details related to the contract, including the signing bonus. We ask for your understanding.”

The news has triggered strong reactions online, with some fans criticizing the agency for what they perceive as a risky financial move. Some netizens labelled the decision as “wasting money,” while others compared the commercial value of Kim Seon Ho and Cha Eun Woo, suggesting that the former might not generate the same level of revenue.

Industry insiders also believe that Fantagio’s decision was influenced by Cha Eun Woo’s potential enlistment in 2025. With several of his fellow 1997-born stars—including BTS’ Jungkook and NCT’s Jaehyun—already enlisted and GOT7’s Yugyeom hinting at his plans to serve soon, many expect Cha Eun Woo to follow suit.

Before signing with Fantagio, Kim Seon Ho was reportedly in discussions with High Zium Studio, home to Song Joong Ki. However, the lucrative offer from Fantagio might have influenced his final decision. Some fans reacted sarcastically, commenting that the agency “saved Song Joong Ki from another bad investment.” Others even advised shareholders to withdraw their investments from Fantagio, believing the agency was “throwing away the money Cha Eun Woo made.”
