On the eve of Republic Day 2024, the prestigious Padma Awards were announced, and one of the luminaries set to receive the Padma Vibhushan is none other than the acclaimed actor, Chiranjeevi. The veteran actor, known for his stellar performances in over 160 films across various languages, shared his heartfelt reaction in a video message, expressing gratitude to his fans and well-wishers.

In the video, Chiranjeevi begins by admitting that he was left "speechless" upon hearing the news. Overwhelmed by the honour, he extends his heartfelt thanks to his audience, friends, and family for their unwavering support throughout his illustrious 45-year career. He credits their unconditional love for making this moment possible.

Reflecting on his journey, Chiranjeevi acknowledges the role of his audience in his success. "I owe this life and moment to you," he says, expressing deep gratitude for the second-highest civilian honour in the country.

The actor, who had previously been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006, emphasizes the significance of the recognition. He shares, "On-screen, in the last 45 years of my career, I have tried to entertain you with the best of my abilities. I tried to help the needy by taking part in relevant social and humanity causes."

Chiranjeevi takes a humble stance, admitting, "I have done so little." Despite his modesty, he expresses profound thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Padma Vibhushan honour, stating, "Yet, you have given me such recognition and honour. I always remain indebted to you for your love and support."

In a moment of national pride, Chiranjeevi concludes by thanking the government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a resounding "Jai Hind."

The 2024 Padma Awards also honoured other distinguished personalities, including Vyjayanthimala, Mithun Chakraborty, Usha Uthup, and Pyarelal Sharma.

Chiranjeevi's illustrious career spans across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada cinema. He briefly stepped away from acting in 2008 to pursue a political career but made a comeback in 2017 with "Khaidi No 150." Known for his humanitarian work, Chiranjeevi founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust in 1998, making significant contributions to society through initiatives like blood and eye banks.

As fans celebrate this momentous occasion for Chiranjeevi, the actor remains a symbol of talent, humility, and social responsibility in the world of Indian cinema. With a new film, "Vishwambhara," on the horizon, the legendary actor continues to leave a mark on the silver screen.
