Cocktail 2: The buzz around Bollywood is reaching a fever pitch as the official announcement for Cocktail 2 finally drops. Following the massive success of the 2012 original which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, this spiritual sequel is set to redefine modern romance with a fresh, star-studded cast. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film features an impressive trio Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna.

According to early reports, Shahid Kapoor is the highest-paid star in the film. He is reportedly charging a staggering Rs 35 crore for his role. His leading ladies, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, are said to be receiving Rs 15 crore each. Notably, this is Rashmika’s first major project since her high-profile marriage to actor Vijay Deverakonda.

Cocktail 2 Plot Detail

While the film is described as “a modern look at love, friendship, and emotional entanglements,” a leaked synopsis has caused quite a stir online. According to these unverified reports, the story follows Shahid and Rashmika as a couple, but Kriti Sanon’s character enters the frame with a hidden agenda. The leak suggests that “It will be revealed in the end that Kriti is a lesbian and loves Rashmika,” leading to a dramatic conclusion where Rashmika chooses Kriti over Shahid. While the makers have not confirmed these details, the posters clearly hint at a vibrant, contemporary road trip theme.

Production for the film began in 2025, with Sicily, Italy, serving as a primary location. In India, the crew filmed extensively across Delhi and the surrounding areas, including Gurugram and Chhatarpur. Fans won't have to wait long for a glimpse of the action. The first look teaser is scheduled to be shown during the paid previews of Dhurandhar 2 on March 18.

Cocktail 2 will officially hit theatres on June 19, placing it in the middle of a busy summer season alongside other major releases like Toxic and Main Vaapas Aaunga.
