Is Cocktail 2 in making? After 13 years, massive hit rom-com movie Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, is returning with a highly-anticipated sequel. Homi Adajania directorial touched the chord with its gripping themes of love, friendship and modern relationships. Amid all the sequel buzz, now producer Dinesh Vijan has something exciting in store. As per reports, Cocktail 2 will see a reunion of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon after the success of the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.

As per a source statement to Pinkvilla, Cocktail 2 will delve deeply into the world of romantic comedy and will bring a love triangle featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles.

“After the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are reuniting on Cocktail 2. The duo loved the script and are excited to venture into the world of this romantic comedy. Producer Dinesh Vijan is also a big fan of the genre, and feels the script of Cocktail 2 is the right one to bring the romantic comedies back in fashion,' the source stated.

After collaborating with Imtiaz Ali for Cocktail in 2012, Dinesh Vijan for the sequel is joining hands with Luv Ranjan."Luv Ranjan has written Cocktail 2 and will be deeply involved in the creative process as a partner on the film. The script is filled with humour and lighthearted moments, with friendship at its emotional core. Luv is a master of this genre, and his collaboration with Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan) is something to watch out for," the source added.

Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon was last seen in Do Patti alongside Kajol and Shaheer Sheikh. Helmed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, the movie was released on Netflix on October 25. The film is produced by Kanika Dhillon and Kriti.

Shahid, on the other hand, is gearing up for action thriller Deva. He will be sharing the screen space with Pooja Hegde.
