Coldplay’s lead vocalist Chris Martin delivered a heartfelt tribute to India during the band’s electrifying concert in Ahmedabad. The event, part of their Music of the Spheres India tour, was held at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera on January 25 and 26. Midway through the high-energy performance, Chris Martin surprised the audience by taking a moment to connect deeply with the Indian crowd. Sitting at the piano, he played a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram and Maa Tujhe Salaam.

The emotional tribute left the audience spellbound, and as the last notes faded, the stadium erupted in thunderous applause. Chris ended the performance with a heartfelt “Salute to Mother India,” further endearing himself to fans.

Following the tribute, Chris returned to his guitar and performed some of Coldplay’s biggest hits, ensuring the energy in the stadium remained electric. The band’s Ahmedabad concert marked a significant stop in their India tour, which began in Navi Mumbai on January 18.

Chris Martin also gave a shoutout to his 'brothers' BTS before he started singing their 2021 collab song My Universe at the Ahmedabad concert. 

The Music of the Spheres tour kicked off at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where Coldplay performed on January 18, 19 and 21. Throughout their India visit, the band gave shoutouts to Indian icons, including actor Shah Rukh Khan and cricketer Jasprit Bumrah. Chris Martin also acknowledged India’s history, expressing regret for the British Raj's atrocities, a gesture that resonated with many.

For fans unable to attend the Ahmedabad concert, the January 26 performance was streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar. The broadcast began at 7:45 PM, allowing viewers across the country to witness the grand spectacle.
