It was eight years back when Deepika Padukone delivered one of her finest performances onscreen in the movie Piku. The movie also starred Amitabh Bachchan and late actor Irrfan Khan in the lead roles. On May 8, 2015, as Piku completed its 8 successful years, the Pathaan star headed to her Instagram handle and dropped a series of pics from the set. She also penned a heartfelt note in the caption as she remembered The Song Of Scorpions actor via her Instagram post.
The first pic shared by the actor saw Deepika, Amitabh and Irrfan posing behind a car made of cardboard, while the second one is a still from the film. The third pic had Padukone seen posing alongside Irrfan and Big B during a photoshoot.

Sharing the adorable pictures, Deepika wrote in the caption, "And if I could relive this experience all over again, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Irrfan, I miss you! Amitabh Bachchan, Shoojit Sircar, and Juhi Chaturvedi (scriptwriter of Piku), I love you. To everyone who made this film possible, thank you for your energy. #Piku."
Piku hit the theatres on May 8, 2015. The movie is largely inspired by Satyajit Ray's Pikoo, a 1980 Bengali-language short film. When it was first released, it received a lot of positive reviews, with an appreciation for its humour, simplicity, and script, as well as for Padukone, Bachchan, and Khan's performances, which proved to be a turning point in each of their individual careers.
Additionally, Piku became a global commercial triumph. The movie made 141 crore (equivalent to 181 crore or US$23 million in 2020) internationally on a budget of 42 crore (equivalent to 54 crore or US$6.7 million in 2020). The music of the film is composed by Anupam Roy while the lyrics are penned Anupam Roy and Manoj Yadav.
On the professional front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in Pathaan. She will be next seen in the action thriller flick Project K, alongside Prabhas, She also has Siddharth Anand's Fighter, opposite Hrithik Roshan in the pipeline. Fighter will also star Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi.
