Deepika Padukone Upcoming Movies: Deepika Padukone had a stellar 2023 with the release of mega-blockbusters like Pathaan and Jawan. In Jawan, Padukone played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s wife and had a special cameo that made audiences swoon for her. The film’s promotions did not portray Padukone as its leading lady although post the film’s release, the audiences hailed Deepika’s performance and this even overshadowed Nayanthara’s role in the film. Most SRK-DP fans were elated to see the stars together after a long time in Pathaan and Jawan after the 2013 and 2014 films Chennai Express and Happy New Year. 

The actor is again set to rule over people’s hearts and the box office with the release of several big-budget and highly anticipated movies in 2024. The actor’s all three releases of the year were in the top five of IMDb’s highly anticipated Indian movies of 2024 list. 

Padukone is ready to start the year with a bang with the release of Siddharth Anand’s Fighter. She will be next seen in Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas and also in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.

Fighter

She is gearing up for the release of Siddharth Anand’s aerial magnum opus ‘Fighter’ releasing on January 25 alongside Hrithik Roshan. This marks their first onscreen collaboration. The film features Padukone as Squadron Leader Minal ‘Minny’ Rathore. The movie trailer released on January 15, 2024, reveals that the film makes allusions to the 2019 Pulwama incident, the 2019 Balakot airstrike, and the 2019 border conflicts between India and Pakistan. Padukone’s role as an airforce pilot has garnered much attention from her fans who are looking forward to witnessing her fierce avatar in the film. 

Kalki 2898 AD

Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ revealed Padukone’s first look from the film on her birthday on January 05, 2024. The film has a stellar star cast including Prabahs, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in leading roles. Though details about Padukone’s role in the film are not out, the hype around the film is understandable due to the high budget on which it is being made. Reports reveal that the film is being made on a budget of Rs 600 crore making it the most expensive Indian film ever made. The film is a science-fiction fantasy. Set in a dystopian world the movie has Prabahs as Kalki who is against a tyrannical regime. The film is being simultaneously shot in Hindi and Telugu. The film’s release date is May 9, 2024.

Singham Again

Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again is another movie in his cop universe. The movie has a huge star cast featuring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff. Deepika Padukone debuts as a female cop in the movie. She looks bold and fearless as Shakti Shetty in her first look poster released in October 2023. The film is all set to hit the theatres on August 15, 2024. 

Deepika Padukone’s choice of films in 2024 depicts her hunger for diverse roles and she has embraced the fearless woman avatar in most of the roles that she is going to portray on the silver screen. We can expect a lot of cheering in cinemas as Padukone shines in these big Bollywood releases of the year.
