Dev Patel's latest film, Monkey Man, has been making waves, not just for its gripping storyline but also for its emotional impact. The actor, who wrote, directed, produced and starred in the film, recently shared a touching moment from the movie's premiere that left him feeling "very emotional".

At the SXSW premiere of Monkey Man, Dev Patel received a standing ovation, a moment that he described as overwhelming. However, it was a particular interaction with an audience member that truly moved him.

Dev recounted, "When we went to SXSW, an older Indian man came to me and he shook my hand. As I was going to leave, he held on to me and said: 'I'm jealous of my son.' And I go, 'That’s a weird thing to say.' And he goes, 'He's 14 years old and he's lucky that he's going to have someone like you representing him in a film like this, and I never had that.' And I was very emotional when he said that."
