The makers of Deva have unveiled a brand-new song, Marji Cha Maalik, featuring Shahid Kapoor in his cop avatar. The high-energy track gives fans a glimpse of his character, Dev Ambre, exuding confidence, performing action-packed stunts and sharing an intense moment with Pooja Hegde.
Released on YouTube, Marji Cha Maalik introduces Shahid Kapoor as a fearless police officer who lives by his own rules. Sung by Shreyas, the track perfectly complements Dev Ambre's bold and daring persona. Packed with power-packed action sequences and stylish visuals, the song adds to the film’s intensity.
The song highlights Shahid's charismatic screen presence and showcases his chemistry with Pooja Hegde. The duo’s intimate scenes in the song have grabbed attention, further adding to the excitement surrounding the movie.

Ahead of the film’s release, Shahid Kapoor took to Instagram to express his love for Deva, calling it a project that demanded a year of dedication. He shared an emotional note, saying, "One year of blood, sweat, and tears. 2024 was all DEVA!!! Mera dil meri jaan. Mera kaam meri shiddat. Mera acting ke liye pyaar. Meri audience ke liye mohabbat." His heartfelt words reflected his commitment to the film and his fans.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Pooja Hegde opened up about her experience working with Shahid. She praised his acting skills, saying, "It’s easy to work with a very good actor because you’re just reacting to them. I remember shooting close-ups where he was really good, and I thought, ‘Should I do my shot again?’ There’s truth in his performances, and that shows."
Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, Deva was initially slated for an October 2024 release but finally hit theatres on January 31, 2025.
