Dhurandhar has firmly established itself as the biggest Indian film of the year. With an impressive Rs 1,000 crore box office collection, Dhurandhar has entered its fourth week and it is still ruling in theatres. The massive earnings underline the film’s widespread appeal and strong word of mouth, both in India and overseas. Dhurandhar OTT Release Details
According to reports, the makers of Dhurandhar have locked in a major OTT deal. According to Bollywood Hungama, Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights for Dhurandhar and its upcoming sequel for a combined Rs 130 crore.
About the movie: Dhurandhar follows a decade-long Indian intelligence mission centred on an undercover operative infiltrating Karachi’s criminal and political underworld. Principal photography was carried out between July 2024 and October 2025 across Thailand, Punjab, Mumbai, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. The music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev, with cinematography by Vikash Nowlakha and editing by Shivkumar V. Panicker.
While classified as fiction by the CBFC, Dhurandhar draws inspiration from real-life geopolitical events, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and R&AW’s infiltration during Operation Lyari.
Released in theatres on 5 December 2025, Dhurandhar received mixed-to-positive reviews, with critics applauding its ensemble cast — especially Singh and Khanna — along with Aditya’s direction, cinematography, action sequences, music, world-building and high production values, though its pacing drew some criticism. Despite debates over its blending of fact and fiction, with some calling it propaganda, the film went on to gross over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide, emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, the third highest-grossing Hindi film ever, the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time, and the highest-grossing A-certified Indian film. A sequel, Dhurandhar: Part 2, is set to release on 19 March 2026.
