Disha Patani and her family are in big trouble as her father Jagdish Singh Patani became a victim of Rs 25 lakh scam in Uttar Pradesh. As per reports, the actress's father was offered a prestigious role in a government commission which came out to be untrue. An FIR has been filed against the five accused people. A report by PTI suggests that Jagdish Singh Patani was introduced by a known associate, Shivendra Pratap Singh, to Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash from Juna Akhara.
Notably, DK Sharma, the officer in charge at Kotwali police station, confirmed the case against the accused people Shivendra Pratap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash of Juna Akhara, Preeti Garg, and one unidentified individual. The charges in this case includes cheating, criminal intimidation, and extortion. Sharma shared a statement “Efforts are underway to apprehend the accused and ensure strict action.”
On the work front, Disha Patani made her Tamil debut with the movie Kanguva. The film was released in theatres on November 14, 2024. Kanguva stars Suriya Sivakumar, Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Aarash Shah, Karthik Sivakumar, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley in significant roles. After two days of its release, the movie had a box office collection is Rs 33 crore.
Apart from Kanguva, Patani also appeared in movies like Kalki 2898 AD and Yodha. Nag Ashwin’s directorial became a huge blockbuster whereas Yodha could not perform well at the box office.
Disha Patani is known for her work in movies including Baaghi 2, Malang Unleash The Madness, Ek Villain Returns, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Radhe, Kung Fu Yoga, Bharat, Yodha and Kalki 2898 AD to name a few.
The actress made her acting debut with the Telugu movie Loafer in 2015. The film also features Varun Tej, Revathi Menon, Charandeep Surneni, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, Pavitra Lokesh and Posani Krishna Murali in key roles.
