Madhuri Dixit’s husband Dr Sriram Nene moved to India with the actress as she wanted to focus on her career, but did you know, his parents were not happy with the decision? Recently, Dr Nene opened up about the same on his YouTube channel and said, “I am Indian. I grew up from an immigrant start, and my parents certainly weren’t happy that I am leaving the prototypical job of a heart surgeon and kind of every Indian’s wet dream, with like perfect sort of situations and lots of friends and the head of the hospital. But I could operate, at the most, on 3-5 patients with open heart surgery and in a year maybe 500 patients.”
“I had been a tech entrepreneur before with a software company at 14. My folks said that the only way to move forward is to become a doctor or engineer,” he further added.
He said, “I was very rewarded, and to see patients leave the hospital healthy and to interact with their families and make a difference in their lives was amazing, but when I looked at the planet, I said there’s 7 billion people. I said, "What if you could take health care as is traditionally practised and then use a combination of media and technology to take it to the last mile and create digital frontiers where you can put a doctor in everyone’s pocket.”
Madhuri Dixit, the renowned Bollywood actress, made a significant life change in 1999 when she married cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Shriram Nene. Following their wedding, Madhuri relocated to Denver, Colorado, in the United States, where she prioritized her family life and temporarily stepped away from the limelight of her thriving Bollywood career. Although she largely focused on her personal life during this period, Madhuri did make occasional appearances in films and on television, hinting at her enduring passion for the craft that defined her professional life.
However, after over a decade in the US, the Nene family decided it was time for a new chapter, and in 2011, they chose to return to India. Madhuri shared the exciting news with her fans via Twitter, announcing, "For all my fans, we are relocating to India! It will be good to be back home." This move marked a significant shift, allowing Madhuri to reconnect with her roots and potentially revive her career in the Indian film industry, a prospect that undoubtedly thrilled her devoted fan base.
