The Sabarmati Report is an upcoming Hindi thriller drama which is about the 2002 Godhra train burning incident. The movie already made a strong wave ahead of its release. However, there were several reports that suggested that the movie has faced censorship issues. Ekta Kapoor reacted on the same refuting the rumours about the same. She further mentioned that they have submitted all the facts with all the news reports.

Ekta said, “We got our censor in exactly one viewing and there was no problem with the censor, the film is so strongly factual, we actually deposited all the facts with all the news reports, other factual parts, so that everything that has been shown in the movie has been either reported or accepted as a fact.”

The Sabarmati Report stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, Ridhi Dogra, Prince Kashyap, Sundip Ved, Nazneen Patni and Hella Stichlmair in key roles. It has been directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan. The movie is set to release in theatres on November 15, 2024.

While sharing the trailer of the movie, Vikrant wrote on Instagram “History is the witness, whether it is country or human, it takes care of it only after falling. No matter how long the period of lie is, only truth changes it! #TheSabarmatiReportTrailer out now. #TheSabarmatiReport in cinemas on 15th Nov.”

While talking about signing the film, Vikrant told India TV “This film was brought to me by Ektaa Kapoor. When she brought this film to me, I got a little scared, because generally people and especially in cinema, no one talked about this subject. I told her that I would read the script and tell her and then Ektaa said that she knows you I was hesitant. She gave me the script and some research reports and told me to read it and tell her. When I read the research material and the script, I felt that no one talked about this subject and even in the talks that were held, many facts have not been revealed.”
