Empuraan 3: Prithviraj Sukumaran made his directorial debut in 2019 with Lucifer, which became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films. Starring himself and Mohanlal, the film captivated audiences with its storyline, leading the makers to come up with a sequel, L2: Empuraan. As the film nears its release, speculation about a third part has started circulating. Reacting to this, Prithviraj revealed that the story idea for the third part is still in its nascent stage.
Empuraan 3 In Works
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is busy promoting his upcoming movie L2: Empuraan, spoke during a media interaction in Chennai about whether there will be a third part. Confirming Empuraan 3, he said, “When I made the first part, I made sure that it was a self-contained film, with a proper ending to the story. However, with Empuraan, I have taken a chance as a filmmaker. This film will need the third part for its completion. Currently, the story idea for the third part is in the nascent stage.”
L2: Empuraan, which is set to hit theatres on March 27, is already creating a buzz with its pre-booking collections. It has already collected Rs 60 crore worldwide.
Sharing the response the film has been receiving ahead of its release, Prithviraj said, “I just received a call from the producer, who informed me that the film has already collected Rs 60 crore. This is the worldwide collection. All of us were confident that the film would be met with a lot of excitement, but this is way beyond our prediction. We are humbled and hope to live up to such huge expectations.”

About L2: Empuraan:
It is one of the eagerly anticipated Malayalam action-thriller films. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also stars in the film, Empuraan has a gripping narrative penned by writer Murali Gopy. The star cast includes Mohanlal in the lead, along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Eriq Ebouaney, Jerome Flynn, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
