Will Adipurush Surpass The Record Set By Baahubali 2? Baahubali 2: The Conclusion received universal acclaim for ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli's direction, plot, story, cinematography, visual effects, and more. The movie temporarily eclipsed PK (2014) to become the highest-grossing Indian movie of all time, earning $1,810 crore ($280.7 million), garnering around 789 crores globally in just six days after its release. In barely 10 days, it became the first Indian movie to ever earn over 1,000 crores.

Starring Prabhas in the lead role, Baahubali 2 broke several box office records in India, topping Telugu and Tamil as well as Hindi to become the most successful movie ever. It now holds the record for the highest-grossing Indian movie and second-highest-grossing Indian movie globally. The movie earned over 10 crore (100 million) at the box office, which is the most admissions for an Indian movie since Sholay (1975).

After Baahubali 2, All Eyes On Prabhas' Adipurush- The Mega Budget

All eyes are on Prabhas' upcoming flick Adipurush, co-starring Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The magnum opus is made on a massive budget of ₹700 crore (US$88 million), making it the most expensive Indian film ever made. The makers have spent an amount of ₹350 crore (US$44 million) on visual effects, while the original budget was initially estimated to be ₹500 crore (US$63 million). The budget was increased to ₹700 crores (US$88 million) to improve and enhance the CGI/VFX after its teaser was criticised all around the globe.

As Adipurush is also another big-budget movie, like Baahubali, there are a lot of discussions going on regarding the movie's Box Office. Netizens wonder if the upcoming mythological flick will be able to surpass the blockbuster movie Baahubali 2. As Prabhas' character in Baahubali 2 was loved by the movie buffs, the audience have faith in Adipurush, in which he plays the role of Raghava (LORD RAMA). It will be interesting to watch the epic saga turned into Om Raut-directorial on the big screen.

Baahubali 2 Vs Adipurush: Advance Bookings

Within 24 hours of the release of Baahubali 2 in North India, online ticketing company BookMyShow sold over 1 million tickets for filmmaker S.S Rajamouli's highly awaited epic fantasy Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. On the other hand, Adipurush has begun advance reservations in the United States. Because of the high demand for this film in America, advance tickets are flying off the shelves. However, it is known that each ticket costs $20 there. The advance bookings in India have not begun yet, once, it starts, it will be the major deciding factor of Adipurush's fate.

Will Om Raut Magic Work Once Again?

Om Raut is known for his noteworthy filmmaking. His last action-flick, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead, is also a huge success. The film grossed ₹3.67 billion (US$46 million) worldwide & was declared a major success at the box office, thus becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2020 as well as highest grossing Indian film of 2020. It became the 28th highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

Produced by Om Raut, 2011 horror-flick Haunted 3D did wonders at the Box Office. According to boxofficeindia.com, Haunted – 3D recorded the highest opening ever for an Indian horror film. Released with over 1044 prints, the film grossed ₹ 130 million during its opening weekend. By the end of its first week, the film grossed ₹ 143.0 million.

Om Raut, earlier in an interview, stated that he has not done anything like Adipurush before. According to Film Companion, he said, "I don't think I do anything of such sort. Yes, they are saying it's a pan-India film and that is a great thing as it gives a great sense of encouragement. And yes, Prabhas is the most bankable superstar in our country. But above all, what works for me is him as an actor, him as a person and his persona. His eyes, his stance and body language all suit the character of Adipurush. That was my reason to go to him with the part. And that's what matters to me the most. I'm thankful that he accepted to play the part. However, to answer your question, if there's anything I'd do to make a pan India film, I don't know what that means. I've always tried to be truthful to my subject and truthful to the narrative that I believe in the most. In fact, I would like to make a pan-world film. I think every artist wants to be seen everywhere in the world."

If the reports are to be believed, the director of Adipurush has used three times more VFX than the Baahubali sequel. Up until this point, Baahubali 2 held the record for Bollywood films with the most visual effects. There were over 2500 visual effects in the film. Om Raut, however, has chosen to shatter all records by employing about 8000 visual effects shots in his forthcoming film, Adipurush.

Audience's Love Adiprurush Trailer

After facing tough criticisms from all across the globe for its poor VFX, the Adipurush teaser had a quite tough time. Last month, the makers unveiled the much-anticipated trailer and surprisingly, it was highly praised by all. To improve the film's quality, the entire team got down to work on the VFX. It appears that they put forth a lot of effort. The trailer, according to online users, is a hundred times better than the teaser.
