Fatima Sana Shaikh Shares Casting Couch Experience

Fatima Sana Shaikh tried pursuing a career as a leading lady in the South Indian cinema industry. The actress has now revealed how she dealt with the casting couch during her auditions down South. Recalling an awkward encounter with a casting agent, Fatima Sana Shaikh spoke to Bollywood Bubble. "He asked me, 'You will be ready to do everything, right?' I told him that I will be working hard and will do what is required for the role, but he kept saying that, and I played dumb because I wanted to see how low can he get," she said.

The Dangal actress added, "The producers would talk about it very openly, 'You know, here you have to meet people.' They wouldn't say things outright but would imply them in strange ways. Of course, they’d say it indirectly but make their intentions clear. They’d say things like -You have to meet people or You have to do this and that."

Fatima Sana Shaikh also described how dishonest casting directors exploited aspiring actors in Mumbai by frequently requesting a portion of their earnings. She described how each studio held its own auditions, which were frequently found by struggling actors through word-of-mouth. On the audition forms, however, the casting director, who would be in attendance at these studios, would request that performers identify their references. Actors might later discover that the same casting director had deducted a portion of their payment when they were paid for commercials or advertisements.

On the work front, Fatima Sana Shaikh will be seen in Metro...In Dino, the spiritual follow-up to the 2007 blockbuster Life in a...Metro. Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Ali Fazal star in Anurag Basu's directorial.

Soon after, the pair was regularly spotted together at different occasions, which sparked rumors about their romance.

Fans and the media were left to make their own assumptions because Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh have not publicly acknowledged or denied any love involvement in spite of these speculations.
