Music maestro AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu's news of separation after 29 years of marriage has created a buzz not only among their fans but also among their friends from the industry. November 19 sent shock waves among netizens after the Oscar-winning music composer made headlines for his private life. Indirectly commenting on the situation, filmmaker and actor Parthiban came forward in support of his friend.
AR Rahman broke silence on his divorce, on Wednesday morning, he posted on his X handle, “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.” #arrsairaabreakup."
Parthiban On AR Rahman And Saira Banu Divorce
Soon after AR Rahman's tweet, filmmaker and actor Parthiban shared a post addressing the issue of National awardee's separation with his wife. Though, he did not name anyone in the post written in Tamil, fans can connect the context.
The note losely translated stated, “Separation is often viewed with sorrow, but it can also give birth to new forms of peace. Music, sung by Karthik Raja, with the verses of ‘Kudainkein Ramsi,’ shows that separation does not always result in loss. Sometimes, it opens up space for growth and change. Rather than sticking to the suffocating bonds of intimacy, those involved in a relationship can explore if there is a way to live freely, according to their desires. Like a community coming together to celebrate a relationship before parting ways, the decision to leave a place or a bond such as ‘Secession’ should be respected and in doing so, contribute to peace."
