The controversy began after a controversial statement made by Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode. Cyber officials initially took down the video in question and later ordered comedian Samay Raina to remove all content related to the case. So far, 42 individuals, including artists, producers, and influencers associated with the show, have been summoned for questioning.
Among those summoned are Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ranveer Allahbadia, while statements have already been recorded from Devesh Dixit, Raghu Ram, and one other person. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also become involved in the case. They had earlier summoned Samay Raina, along with other panel members like Ranveer, Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija. However, Samay Raina was unable to attend due to prior commitments, while the others failed to appear, citing various reasons.
The NCW has now rescheduled the hearings. Ranveer, Apoorva, Ashish, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra have been summoned for questioning on March 6. Samay Raina, Jaspreet Singh and show organizer Balraj Ghai will have to appear on March 11.
