Ameesha Patel On Why Kareena Kapoor Left Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai: Ameesha Patel, during a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, mentioned that filmmaker Rakesh Roshan had requested Kareena Kapoor to exit the cast of 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' due to disagreements. She recollected what Rakesh Roshan had communicated to her when she secured her first Bollywood film. Ameesha and Hrithik had a remarkable debut with the movie in 2001, and it turned out to be a significant success for both of them.

When questioned about Kareena Kapoor's departure from the film 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' after a few days of shooting, Ameesha explained to the YouTube channel, "Actually, she didn't back out. From what Rakesh ji told me, he asked her to leave the film because they were having differences.

And Pinkie aunty (Rakesh's wife), said that they were shocked because the set was ready, and a replacement Sonia had to be found in three days, and crores of rupees (had been spent) on that set. It was Hrithik's debut and everyone was really stressed. Pinky aunty told me that the day Rakesh saw me at the wedding, he did not sleep all night. He was like 'I got my Sonia, I got my Sonia, but I hope she says yes."

Ameesha also mentioned that when she received the offer, she had no knowledge of the background story or the restless night Rakesh experienced after meeting her.

She also said, "Rakesh uncle always says, 'This girl paid attention to everything I taught her on sets.' He always praises me and says I was a blessing in disguise." She then thanked her destiny for all that happened ever since.

In a 2020 interview with The Quint, Rakesh Roshan had explained that he chose to replace Kareena as the lead actor in 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' because of the involvement of the actor's mother, Babita.

During the interview, Ameesha also shared her enthusiasm for potential sequels to 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' and 'Humraaz' when questioned about these films. She mentioned that if there is a demand from the audience and if the makers can come up with a suitable storyline, then a sequel should be considered.

In an old interview with Filmfare magazine, Kareena Kapoor had expressed her contentment about her decision to exit 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.' She mentioned that Ameesha did not appear attractive in the film and even had pimples and under-eye bags in some scenes. Kareena also stated that despite her departure from the movie, there were no issues between Hrithik and her.
