Game Changer, Shankar's debut Telugu movie, will hit theatres on January 10 and stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the key parts. In response to the stampede deaths at the Pushpa 2 Sandhya Theatre, the Telangana administration, which adopted a more stringent approach, has refused permission for the 1 AM shows. However, additional shows and ticket hikes have been approved by the government.

Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government permitted Game Changer's show as early as 1 AM. The government has loosened some regulations in exchange for screening ads that raise awareness about drugs, narcotics, and cybercrime. However, shows at one in the morning were not permitted.
