GOAT Box Office Collection Day 18: Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamil movie The Greatest Of All Time also known as GOAT has been roaring at the box office. The science fiction action thriller film has crossed Rs 100 crore within 3 days while it crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in 11 days. As the movie has been declared a blockbuster in such a short span of time, it would be interesting to see if it crosses the Rs 300 crore mark soon. 

GOAT Box Office Collection Day 18

As per Sacnilk, GOAT earned Rs 5.25 crore at the box office on Day 18 (3rd Sunday). The total net collection of The Greatest Of All Time is Rs 243.50 crore. On 3rd Sunday, GOAT had 48.51 per cent Tamil occupancy and 21.39 per cent Hindi occupancy. The movie hit the silver screens on September 5, 2024.

Venkat Prabhu’s directorial delves into the story of a spy agent who works at the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS). After years of service, he has been handed over a critical mission that collides with his past. The movie stars Thalapathy Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth Thyagarajan, Sneha Prasanna, Prabhu Deva, Mohan and Premgi Amaren in key roles. GOAT had special appearances of cricket legend MS Dhoni and Tamil superstars Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan. In the film, Vijay could be seen playing dual roles (as a father and a son). 

Speaking about the de-aging technology used in GOAT, Venkat Prabhu told India Today “At first when I wrote the script, I was not aware of de-ageing technology, and so I started the script with father and son, which was to be played by different actors. Then my classmate Vikram, who is into animation and had worked in Hollywood movies, introduced the concept of making a character as your wish just as they did in 'Gemini Man', and I decided to explore it.” 

“Till 'Jawan', we saw father and son characters played by the same actor, but I wanted to do it differently. To use the de-ageing technology, we needed a big budget and that's when AGS [Entertainment] came in. I had initially narrated the idea to Vijay when he was doing 'Varisu' and he asked me to finish my project Custody first,” the filmmaker concluded.

Netflix has secured the digital rights of Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamil movie The Greatest Of All Time. GOAT will be streaming on Netflix from October 3, 2024.
