Gurucharan Singh, renowned for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,' who had been missing since April 22, reportedly returned home on Friday, according to police. During interrogation, the actor informed the officials that he had renounced worldly life and embarked on a religious journey. They had registered a kidnapping case and initiated a probe to locate the actor.
According to India Today, over the past few days, he visited Gurudwaras in several cities, including Amritsar and Ludhiana, before realising he should return home, the police reported.
Gurucharan Singh's missing complaint
Deeply concerned, the actor's father had previously lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police regarding his son's sudden disappearance during an intended journey to Mumbai. "My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing."

Timeline of events
On April 22, the actor was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Mumbai but did not board the flight and went missing. His phone remained active until April 24, during which multiple transactions were made, according to a police investigation. CCTV footage from the day of his disappearance showed him walking with a bag on his back.
His father, Hargit Singh, filed a missing person complaint on April 26, and an FIR was registered under Section 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). During the investigation, a police officer revealed that Singh's financial condition was unstable, as he had several loans and outstanding dues.
In a significant discovery, authorities found that Gurucharan Singh managed over 10 financial accounts despite his challenging financial situation. Official sources disclosed that he had maintained numerous accounts. Reportedly, his activities included cash withdrawals using credit cards and settling dues from one card with another. The last known transaction was a withdrawal of Rs 14,000 from an ATM, after which no further information is available.
