Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil OTT Release Date Out: Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph teamed up for the Malayalam comedy movie titled 'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil', which became a hit at the box office and was widely loved by the audience as well. The movie will finally release on the OTT platform after much wait and its streaming date has officially been announced. The movie also stars Nikhila Vimal, Anaswara Rajan and Yogi Babu.

Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil OTT Release Date Out:

'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil' will release on Disney+ Hotstar on June 27.

Filmmaker Vipin Das, while speaking to The Hindu, talked about why he chose to do a comedy movie. He said, "This is a genre I have not done. Two of my three movies — Antakshari and JJJJH— dealt with intense subjects. Naturally, I don’t want to keep working on the same subject, it is exciting to work on different genres. It has all the elements of a fun film. There are songs, dance, action…We have had movies like that in the past, films with a festival feel. It is quite some time since we saw a film in that genre."

He added, "The offbeat narrative techniques that I used in JJJH have not been used in this film. Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil has been written by Deepu Pradeep. My job is to translate his story visually on screen. I believe I have been able to do justice to his script."

The movie became a massive success at the box office and collected Rs 90 crore globally, becoming the 5th highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024.

On the work front, Prithviraj was last seen in the Bollywood movie 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' along with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. He was also seen in the Malayalam movie 'Aadujeevitham/The Goat Life'.

Basil was last seen 'Varshangalkku Shesham' in the supporting role. He will next star in 'Ajayante Randam Moshanam' alongside Tovino Thomas, Krithi Shetty, and Aishwarya Rajesh. He will also be seen in 'Nunakuzhi'.
