From substantial donations for little kids to meaningful initiatives, the group has used their platform to make a profound impact on the lives of fans and those in need.

Happy Children's Day: BTS Members' Million Dollar Donations

BTS' Jungkook

BTS's Jungkook donated approximately ₹6.2 crore to Seoul National University Children's Hospital. This significant contribution, confirmed by K-media, helped fund medical expenses for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring they received necessary care.

BTS’ Jhope

In a heartwarming display of philanthropy, BTS member Jope (Jung Ho-seok) made a generous donation of over $89,000 to ChildFund Korea in May 2021. The funds supported the establishment of a new One Stop Center in Tanzania, East Africa, providing essential services such as treatment, legal aid and counselling to children who survived violence. Coinciding with Korea's Children's Day on May 5, Jhope's donation of 100 million won was aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children in Tanzania. 

As reported by Soompi, ChildFund Korea acknowledged Jhope's kindness, highlighting his commitment to making a positive impact on young lives globally.

BTS’ Suga

BTS member Suga celebrated his 28th birthday on March 11, 2021, by making a generous donation of $88,000 to Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center in his hometown of Daegu. According to Billboard, Suga said, “I wanted to help the children, who cannot receive proper treatment because of financial hardship, and see them become healthy and bright.”

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center's Director, Cho Chi-heum, praised BTS member Suga's altruism, saying, "We are deeply touched by Suga's kind donation. His selfless act inspires us, and we hope it will spark a wave of positivity throughout our community." Director Cho also commended BTS for their significant contributions to Korea's global reputation, stating, "I am immensely proud of the group's achievements, which have greatly enhanced national prestige. I wish BTS continued success in captivating the hearts of people worldwide."

BTS’ Jin

BTS member Jin's dedication to philanthropy was recognised by UNICEF in 2019, as his cumulative donations surpassed 100 million Korean won (approximately $88,000), earning him a prestigious spot in the organisation's Honors Club. This esteemed group comprises select individuals who have contributed over 100 million Korean won to support UNICEF's mission of enhancing the lives of children worldwide through vital funding, specialised programs, and mentorship initiatives. By joining the Honors Club, Jin demonstrated his commitment to making a lasting impact on the well-being of children globally, solidifying his position as a compassionate and influential figure in the K-pop industry.

BTS’ RM

To celebrate his 25th birthday, BTS leader RM made a generous donation of 100 million Korean won to the Seoul Samsun School, specifically benefiting students with hearing impairments. This heartfelt gesture aimed to provide equal access to music education for those with auditory challenges. As stated by a school official, RM's donation was motivated by his desire to enable students with hearing difficulties to experience and appreciate music through alternative means. 

BTS’ Jimin

BTS member Jimin donated 100 million Korean won to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education in 2019, benefiting his hometown community. The generous contribution was earmarked to support low-income families, with the education office distributing the funds across local schools. Specifically, the donation was allocated to provide lunch subsidies for underprivileged students and cover other essential expenses, ensuring that young learners received the necessary resources to thrive.
