From Baahubali in 2015 to Salaar in 2023, these movies have captivated audiences and made a significant impact on the industry. Baahubali
The movie ‘Baahubali’ was made with a budget of Rs 180 crore ($28 million), making it the most expensive Indian film when it was released. It came out worldwide on July 10, 2015, in Hindi and Malayalam versions. It received praise for its direction, story, visual effects, and more. It was a huge success at the box office, grossing around ₹600–650 crore worldwide. It's considered one of the best Indian epic action films and the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time.
Kabali
Upon its release, ‘Kabali’ achieved a remarkable feat by recording the highest worldwide opening day earnings for a South Indian film, surpassing the previous record held by "Baahubali: The Beginning." It amassed a staggering ₹875 million (US$13.02 million) on its inaugural day, marking a significant milestone in the realm of Indian cinema.
Baahubali 2
The movie premiered on more than 9,000 screens globally, with 6,500 in India alone, setting a new record for the widest release of an Indian film. Upon its release, it earned around Rs 1,737.68–1,810.60 crore worldwide ($256.26–267.01 million), surpassing ‘PK’ to briefly become the highest-grossing Indian film ever. It collected approximately ₹789 crore (US$99 million) worldwide within the first six days of release.

The film's global earnings exceeded Rs 100 crore (US$14.62 million), marking the second-highest worldwide collection for an Indian film on its opening day, following only ‘Baahubali 2’.
Saaho
The movie ‘Saaho’ garnered a worldwide gross ranging between Rs 419 crore (US$59.5 million) and Rs 439 crore (US$62.34 million), surpassing its production budget of ₹325 crore. At the box office, it performed moderately well overall, with the Hindi version proving to be commercially successful.
RRR
On its first day, ‘RRR’ made ₹240 crore (US$30 million) worldwide, achieving the highest opening-day earnings for an Indian film. It became the top-grossing movie in its home markets of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, bringing in over Rs 405.9 crore (US$51 million). Salaar
‘Salaar’ premiered in theaters on December 22, 2023, in both standard and IMAX versions, receiving generally mixed-to-positive reviews from critics. It performed well at the box office, earning Rs 715 crore on a budget of Rs 270 crore. This success crowned it as the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2023 and the third highest-grossing Telugu film ever.
Pushpa
The movie enjoyed significant commercial success, earning between Rs 360 crore (US$45 million) and ₹373 crore (US$47 million) at the box office. It achieved the status of the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021 and stands tall among the highest-grossing Telugu films ever made.
