Alok Nath, a prominent Indian actor known for his roles in numerous films and television series, was accused of sexual misconduct during the MeToo movement in 2018. In a recent interview, Himani Shivpuri discussed her experiences working with him, known for his roles in films like Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Pardes. She revealed that while the actor misbehaved with her during their time at the National School of Drama (NSD), he never made any further advances afterward.
Shivpuri noted that apart from this isolated incident, she did not encounter further issues with him. However, she had heard from others that Nath's behaviour changed significantly when he drank. Alok Nath faced sexual misconduct allegations during the MeToo movement in 2018. "Apart from one incident in the National School of Drama (NSD), I have never faced any problem with him. But, I would hear from people that he was a different person after a few drinks," she said, She told Siddharth Kanan.
Himani Shivpuri added that Alok Nath behaves in a ‘sanskari’ manner when he is sober. She explained that in her extensive past work with him, Nath’s personality was notably different when he wasn’t drinking, contrasting sharply with his behaviour under the influence. "His personality was like that of Jekyll and Hyde," the actress added.

She recounted a specific incident involving Alok Nath's drunken behaviour. During the flight, Nath was excessively drunk, and his wife repeatedly tried to calm him down. Himani Shivpuri also intervened, warning him to get a grip or face being deplaned. She mentioned that Nath had previously been removed from a flight due to similar behaviour.
"He was drunk and out of control while we were travelling for an award show, and his wife kept asking him to be calm. I even asked him to get a grip on himself or else he would be deplaned. He was deplaned once in the past because of his behaviour," Himani mentioned.
Alok Nath's Metoo Case
The allegations were brought forward by several women, including actress Vinta Nanda, who accused Nath of rape and harassment. Nanda’s allegations sparked a wider discussion about sexual harassment in the entertainment industry, with other women also coming forward with their experiences.
Nath denied the allegations and claimed that they were false. The accusations against him had significant repercussions on his career, leading to various professional and personal consequences. Sandhya Mridul also accused him of sexual abuse.
