Hina Khan, the popular television actress known for her roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, has been diagnosed with Stage Three breast cancer. The news was shared by the actress on her Instagram handle on Friday. In her post, the 36-year-old expressed her determination and commitment to overcoming the disease.

On Instagram, Hina Khan shared a lengthy note addressing her fans, affectionately called Hinaholics and others who care for her. She wrote, "Hello everyone, To address the recent rumours, I want to share some important news with all the Hinaholics and everyone who loves and cares for me. I have been diagnosed with Stage Three breast cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well. I am strong, determined and truly committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun, and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger."

A day after her announcement, Hina Khan posted an Instagram story with a note that read, 'This too shall pass', accompanied by the motivational song Kar Har Maidaan Fateh.

Following her announcement, Hina received an outpouring of support from her colleagues in the television industry. Bollywood actor and cancer survivor Mahima Chaudhry sent a heartfelt message, writing, "Sending you all my love and strength, you're my brave one Hina. You are a fighter, and I know you will be just fine! You have millions of people wishing the best for you, and I will be there holding your hand right through this." Mahima Chaudhry was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022.

Hina Khan first rose to fame with her role as Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai becoming a household name with her character of Akshara. She later participated in reality shows such as Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 8 and Bigg Boss 11. Hina also made appearances in Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Naagin 5, where she played the titular shape-shifting serpent. Her film credits include Hacked, Smartphone, Lines, Wishlist and Unlock, among others. Additionally, she starred in the second season of the web series Damaged 2.
