Lee Hyeri is gearing up for the release of her new movie, Victory. Several celebrities like BLACKPINK's Jisoo, Byeon Woo Seok and others were present at the film's VIP show in Seoul and extended their support for its release. During a recent interview with a media outlet, Lee Hyeri discussed her fears over addressing the dating controversy involving Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee. The idol-turned-actress was worried that the scandal might overshadow the release of her new film, Victory.
On August 7, Hyeri spoke with the press at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, promoting her upcoming movie. She expressed her concerns about how the controversy from earlier this year might affect her film's reception. Hyeri shared that Victory is a project she deeply loves and feared that commenting on the dating controversy would draw more attention than the movie itself. She briefly discussed her emotions regarding an Instagram post which she captioned, "That's interesting."
Hyeri apologized for the incident once again, explaining that she acted as an ordinary person, not a celebrity, at that time. She expressed her feelings as herself, Lee Hyeri, rather than her public persona.

Victory, her new film, is set in 1999 and revolves around a high school cheerleading group in a small village. The story explores the lives, passions, and youth of these spirited cheerleaders. Hyeri stars alongside Park Se Wan, Lee Jung Ha and Jo Aram in the lead roles.
Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol had been dating for seven years before their breakup in early 2023. When rumours of Ryu Jun Yeol dating Han So Hee surfaced, Hyeri made a social media post with the caption, "It's interesting," which led to backlash after Han So Hee responded to it.
Both actresses apologized to the public and each other. Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee confirmed their relationship on March 16 but broke up shortly after on March 30. The couple had been cast in the upcoming project Delusion but exited the project following their breakup.
