Vidyut Jammwal's movie IB 71 had a decent start at the box office with collections of Rs 1.67 crores. The film was released in a limited number of screens, and while the morning and afternoon shows had low turnout, it picked up well during the evening and night shows.
On the second day, the film earned Rs 2.50 crore India net. Despite facing tough competition from The Kerala Story, which is still attracting a large audience, IB 71 has managed to earn Rs 2.50 crore at the box office, so far.
IB 71 is similar to other films in its genre such as Baby, Raazi, Bell Bottom, and Mission Majnu, with a focus on intelligence and action, and plenty of thrills. Those who have already seen The Kerala Story may be interested in watching IB 71 this weekend.
IB 71 has been produced on a limited budget and therefore even a reasonably good collection from theatres can make it profitable. If the film can earn between 8-10 crores in the post-weekend period, it could position itself for a decent run in the next few weeks.
