Indian 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Kamal Haasan's film shows strong weekday performance despite continues drops, bolstering its box office success on Day 5. The film continues to attract audiences, contributing to its impressive earnings. Indian 2, directed by Shankar, achieved the highest opening for a Tamil film in India this year, grossing over Rs 25 crore nett on its first day. This sequel to the 1996 hit Indian sees Kamal Haasan reprise his role as Senapathy, a vigilante fighting corruption.

Indian 2 Box Office Report

The film started strong in both Tamil and Telugu markets, though its Hindi collections have been modest. Despite competition from Akshay Kumar's Sarfira, Indian 2 performed exceptionally well, especially during its first three days, solidifying its status as a major box office success.

Indian 2 performed modestly at the box office during its first four days, earning an estimated Rs 62.15 crore net in India. On its fifth day, the film earned around Rs 3.00 crore net across all languages, bringing the total to Rs 65.15 crore. According to Sacnilk, Indian 2 had an overall Tamil occupancy of 15.88% on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with morning shows at 10.62%, afternoon shows at 13.81%, evening shows at 17.46%, and night shows at 21.62%.

The Hindi version, Hindustani 2, had a 10.47% occupancy on the same day. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, S. J. Suryah, and Bobby Simha in key roles.

Released on July 12 and directed by Shankar, Indian 2 features a star-studded cast including Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore, and Deepa Shankar. Co-written by B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar, the film is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.

Reportedly one of the most ambitious projects, this Tamil-language vigilante action film boasts a substantial budget of Rs 150 crore.
