Dil Raju, initially set to produce Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 alongside Red Giant Movies and Lyca Productions, withdrew just before its theatrical release on July 12 across Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. The film, which performing exceptionally well on box office, directed by S Shankar, faced criticism and mixed audience reception, leading to financial losses for the production houses.

Raju's sudden exit surprised many, speculating it was due to uncertainties about the film's storyline and commercial prospects. After stepping away from Indian 2, Dil Raju has reunited with director S Shankar for the upcoming film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Jayaram, and others. The project faced a three-year delay due to Shankar's commitment to Indian 2. Currently, with just a week of shooting left, Ram Charan has completed his role and is now on a break.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan's latest film has made a significant impact at the box office. Indian 2 recorded the highest opening for a Tamil film in India this year, earning over Rs 25 crore nett on its debut day. The sequel to the 1996 hit Indian, the movie showcases Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, a vigilante renowned for his unconventional methods against corruption. Reportedly, Indian 2 boasts a substantial budget of Rs 150 crore.

Directed by Shankar and released on July 12, the film features a notable ensemble cast. Alongside Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, the cast includes Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore, and Deepa Shankar, among other talented actors.

Co-written by B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar, "Indian 2" is a collaborative production between Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.
