Gadar 2 Secures NOC from Indian Army: 'Gadar 2: The Katha Continues' is the much-anticipated follow-up to the superhit 2001 film, 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'. Fans can mark their calendars for August 11, as that's when the film is slated to hit the screens. Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol will reprise their popular roles as Sakina and Tara Singh, respectively, in 'Gadar 2'. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film has received the coveted No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Army.
In compliance with the requirement for any Indian army-based film to secure a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Defence Preview Committee, the creators of 'Gadar 2' organised a special screening of the film. The officials' response to the screening was overwhelmingly positive, warming the hearts of the makers. The Ministry of Defence Preview Committee not only granted approval for 'Gadar 2' but also praised the film for its story and portrayal of the Army.
About 'Gadar 2: The Katha Continues':
'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', released in 2001, takes place during the turbulent period of the Partition of India in 1947. The film draws inspiration from the story of Boota Singh, a former soldier in the British army, and his poignant love affair with Zainab, a Muslim girl he saved during the communal riots that occurred during the partition. Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel portray the main characters, while Amrish Puri and Lillete Dubey also feature prominently in the film. ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ was directed by Anil Sharma.
The remarkable story of patriotism, love, and selflessness portrayed by Tara and Sakeena captivated audiences and set numerous records when it was released in the early aughts. Now, the creators are ready to captivate viewers once again with the second chapter of this franchise.
The upcoming film made headlines recently when Ameesha Patel gave fans a spoiler alert about its plot. The release of the teaser for the much-awaited sequel brought disappointment to many fans as they witnessed Tara Singh mourning at a gravesite, leading to the assumption that it belonged to his beloved wife, Sakina.
With enthusiasm, Ameesha promptly turned to Twitter to alleviate the concerns of her devoted fans. She reassured them that Sakina is alive and well. Ameesha clarified that the person shown in the scene is not Sakina, although she couldn't disclose the identity of the character. She urged her fans not to worry and expressed her love and gratitude to them.
