Alia Bhatt, the Bollywood starlet, made headlines yet again with her exquisite appearance at the Met Gala 2024. This marked her second appearance at the prestigious event, and she certainly left a lasting impression. Clad in a custom Sabyasachi saree, Alia's traditional yet elegant look garnered immense praise and cheers from the crowd.
The Met Gala, known for its exclusivity and extravagant fashion, is not just a red carpet event; it's a spectacle. The event's ticket prices are jaw-dropping, with a single ticket costing around $75,000 and entire tables starting at $350,000. These prices contribute to funding the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
While it's common for companies and design houses to buy tables for their guests, individual attendees, including celebrities, often pay for their seats. Each attendee must also be approved by the iconic Anna Wintour, adding to the event's exclusivity.
Despite the steep ticket prices, attending the Met Gala offers more than just a red carpet walk. Guests get to witness exclusive performances by top artists and view archival fashion pieces displayed at the museum, specifically for the Gala. Moreover, a wide array of gourmet food and drinks are served, adding to the luxury experience.
While it remains uncertain whether Alia Bhatt paid the $75,000 ticket price herself, her presence at the Met Gala undoubtedly solidifies her status as a global celebrity. International paparazzi couldn't contain their excitement as they captured her every move on the red carpet.
In an interview with Vogue during the event, Alia expressed her excitement about the occasion. She mentioned that her choice of outfit, a saree, was in line with the Gala's theme, "Garden of Time," as she believed it to be a timeless garment.
Reflecting on her first Met Gala experience in 2023, Alia shared her nervousness and excitement, particularly about not tripping on the red carpet and ensuring she had enough time to pose and enjoy the moment.
Last year, the Met Gala ticket price was reportedly $50,000, highlighting the increasing exclusivity and glamour of the event. As for Alia's upcoming projects, she is set to star in Vasan Bala's Jigra, which she is co-producing with Karan Johar. Additionally, she has signed on for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
