JE Entertainment Desk: Netflix's web series 'Squid Game' became one of the most popular Korean shows worldwide and won several awards too. The show is all set to return with its second season and Netflix has finally announced its star cast at their annual fan event. Fans expressed their disappointment as the lead star cast does not include any women. Amid this backlash, several fan pages claimed that BLACKPINK member Jisoo will be seen in 'Squid Game' Season 2.
According to several fan pages on social media, BLACKPINK member Jisoo has been approached for 'Squid Game' Season 2 and will be seen as one of the main leads. As of now, neither BLACKPINK's agency nor Netflix has given any official statement regarding Jisoo's involvement in 'Squid Game' Season 2.

Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung Hun and Wi Ha-jun are back in 'Squid Game' Season 2. Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun are the new addition to 'Squid Game' Season 2.
There were rumours about Leonardo DiCaprio being a part of 'Squid Game' Season 2. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk clarified that there will be no Hollywood actor in Season 2.
"That's not in the plan and if the stage changes, maybe in Season 3 – but for Season 2, it is still set in Korea." He also said that he would like to ask Leonardo DiCaprio to join the show. "Leonardo DiCaprio did say he's a big fan of Squid Game, so maybe if time or chances allow, we can ask him to join the games," he said.
The first season of 'Squid Game' created history in many ways and won several awards internationally. The show grabbed 14 nominations for the Emmy Awards 2022 including the Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series categories, among others.
Hwang Dong-hyuk won the Outstanding Director for a Drama Series and Lee Jung-Jae won the category Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series at the 74th Emmy Awards. Lee Jung-Jae created history by becoming the first Asian actor to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmy Awards 2022. Lee You-mi also won the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series at Creative Arts Emmy Award 2022.
