Actress Seo Ye Ji has finally broken her silence, expressing frustration over being repeatedly associated with the ongoing scandal involving Kim Soo Hyun, his cousin Lee Sa Rang and their agency GOLDMEDALIST. On March 13, 2025, Seo Ye Ji addressed her fans, known as Yeyes, through her official fan café. In an emotional message, she shared that she had briefly responded to a social media comment linking her to the scandal — a response she later deleted. The actress admitted that the continuous speculation has taken a toll on her mental and emotional well-being.

The now-deleted comment stemmed from a rumour circulating on TikTok, where a fan vaguely referenced her supposed connection to Kim Soo Hyun. While Seo Ye Ji usually stays quiet on such matters, this time, she felt compelled to speak up.

In her message, she admitted feeling overwhelmed by the relentless gossip. She wrote, “I’m only human... This has been overwhelming, stressful... and I’m so sick and tired of it all. It saddens me and suffocates me. I’ve been holding back and back... but I ended up responding to this comment. I deleted it, though. I wish people would... please... stop. I am in no way affiliated with him and his cousin. I don’t even know why I have to explain myself... but I’m just extra frustrated tonight... Good night, Yeyes.”

Seo Ye Ji’s statement highlights her exhaustion and desire to distance herself from the controversy. Despite having no current ties to Kim Soo Hyun or GOLDMEDALIST, she continues to be dragged into the matter due to her past association with the company.

When GOLDMEDALIST was first established, Seo Ye Ji was one of its prominent signees alongside the late Kim Sae Ron. However, her time with the agency was far from smooth. Over the years, Seo Ye Ji faced a series of controversies, including allegations of bullying and manipulation. Many now speculate that these accusations were orchestrated to divert attention from the agency’s internal issues.

One of the most publicized incidents involved claims that Seo Ye Ji manipulated her former boyfriend, actor Kim Jung Hyun, and mistreated staff members. While she initially remained silent, her representatives later suggested that the allegations were exaggerated or false.
