Jab We Met 2 In The Works: Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met' achieved tremendous success and has earned a cult following over the years. The movie, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, has garnered affection from a wide audience. As discussions about a sequel to the film gain traction, many are curious if former couple Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will come together once again after several years since the original movie.
In a conversation with Times Now, Raj Mehta, the proprietor of Ashtavinayak, affirmed his intentions to create a sequel to 'Jab We Met.' He mentioned that he intends to produce the sequel under the Gandhar Films banner. Nonetheless, there hasn't been an official announcement, and neither the script nor the shooting schedule has been finalised. Furthermore, the cast has not been confirmed. Nevertheless, it raises the question of whether Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will reunite on screen for the sequel to the film!
'Jab We Met' was re-released in theatres earlier this year, and during an interview with Siddharth Kannan at that time, Shahid Kapoor had discussed the potential for a sequel.

He has said, "It really depends on the quality of that script. So, if there is a script that demands a sequel and I feel it is the kind of script that you read and say 'man this will be better than the original this can match up to the original’ I would do it but if I feel it is not and I'm just trying to use the brand value of the original thing to do then I feel that that 'why are you doing it, don't do it'."
He had also praised Kareena Kapoor Khan's portrayal of Geet, stating, "For the character of Geet, I really doubt anyone else will be able to do justice to it."
The most recent film in which Kareena Kapoor and Shahid appeared together was 'Udta Punjab,' although they did not share any scenes. They also starred in 'Milenge Milenge' after 'Jab We Met.'
