Jailer Box Office Collection Day 6: Iconic actor Rajinikanth has made a successful return to the big screens. Following the lukewarm response to 'Annaathe,' the superstar has bounced back in a way that has not only ignited the box office but also reaffirms his status as a true superstar.
Reportedly, 'Jailer' has already surpassed the mark of Rs 350 crore globally and continues to enjoy substantial success internationally. With August 15 being a national holiday in India for Independence Day, the film raked in Rs 35 crore for all languages. 'Jailer' made its theatrical debut worldwide on August 10. The movie has garnered favourable feedback from both reviewers and viewers.
The mainstream film experienced a decline in earnings on Monday, August 14, as is customary for weekdays. Nevertheless, it is projected to have amassed around Rs 28 crore net at the local box office. This contributes to a cumulative six-day collection of Rs 209 crore within India.
In a tweet by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, it was disclosed that on August 14, the film surpassed the Rs 350 crore mark. It is because 'Jailer' is not only thriving within India; it is also experiencing a remarkable journey in the international market.
Penned and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, 'Jailer' stands as a commercial action-packed delight, with Rajinikanth portraying the character of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The movie also showcases Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, and Vasanth Ravi in pivotal roles. Additionally, the film boasts explosive cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff.
Crafted under the banner of Sun Pictures, 'Jailer' features musical compositions by Anirudh Ravichander. The technical team includes cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan and editor R Nirmal.
At the age of 72, Rajinikanth, renowned for his performances in films such as 'Robot' and 'Kaala,' takes on the role of Muthu 'Tiger' Pandian in 'Jailer.' This character is a retired cop and former prison warden. Muthu is also a grandfather to a spirited young boy and is known for his unique methods of dealing with villains, involving actions like beheadings and fatal stabbings.
His proficiency lies in neutralising people who endanger his family. Muthu also leverages a vast circle of questionable associates, brought to life by a varied array of actors and prominent figures, who assist him in eradicating the threats.
