Jigra: After struggling at the box office despite positive reviews, Jigra is now winning hearts on OTT. Directed by Vasan Bala and starring Alia Bhatt in a powerful lead role, the film explores themes of family, sacrifice and resilience. Alia plays Satyabhama Anand, a determined sister risking it all to save her captive brother, Ankur Anand, played by Vedang Raina.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta was among the many who shared their admiration for the movie. Calling it better than "trash peddled as blockbusters," Mehta applauded Vasan Bala’s unique storytelling and Alia Bhatt’s intense performance. “The film avoids melodramatic tropes and stays true to its gripping narrative.

While some noted that the film’s first half felt rushed, many agreed the second half delivered an engaging experience. “A one-time watch for sure, with an excellent second half and captivating performances,” a review read.
Many fans singled out Alia Bhatt’s performance as the highlight of Jigra. “Performance of the year!
