John Abraham, who made his film debut with the 2003 movie Jism, is preparing for his upcoming film Vedaa. His significant breakthrough came with the role of an antagonist in the 2004 blockbuster Dhoom, produced by Yash Raj Films. The film's success established him as a prominent actor in Bollywood. Over the years, John has showcased his versatility through various genres. He has starred in action films like Force (2011) and Satyamev Jayate (2018), and comedy-drama films such as Housefull 2 (2012) and Desi Boyz (2011). Before acting, the actor completed his MBA from the Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) and initially worked in the advertising industry. But do you know his first salary?
In a recent podcast with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, John Abraham reminisced about his early career struggles before making it big in Bollywood. He revealed that after earning his MBA, he joined a company where his initial salary was Rs 6,500 and he used to spend just Rs 6 on lunch in 1999. He later advanced to a position as a media planner at an advertising agency.
John further shared his experience from participating in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999, where he was judged by notable personalities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, and Karan Kapoor. Reflecting on his success, John mentioned that his take-home salary at that time was Rs 11,500, and he was thrilled to win the contest and receive a cash prize of Rs 40,000, which he described as a huge amount for him back then.

When asked about managing his finances and expenditures with limited funds, the actor explained, "I kept my expenses minimal. In 1999, my lunch typically consisted of two chapatis and dal fry, and it cost me just Rs 6.25."
John Abraham, star of Vedaa, reminisced about his frugal lifestyle during his early career. He shared that he would have breakfast at home and skip dinner due to late office hours. His only other major expense was petrol for his bike. During that time, he didn't own a mobile phone and relied on a train pass for travel. He also mentioned that he invested his earnings in equity-based mutual funds as a way to secure his financial future.

Directed by Nikhhil Advani, Vedaa is set to release on August 15, aligning with Independence Day. The action-drama inspired by true events, features Tamannaah Bhatia, Sharvari Wagh, and Abhishek Banerjee in significant roles.
