Veteran actor Junior Mehmood, who was battling with cancer, died last night in Mumbai at the age of 67. The veteran actor, known for his roles in films like 'Kati Patang' and 'Aan Milo Sajna' among others, was battling with stage four stomach cancer.

Actor Naeem Sayyed, popularly known as Junior Mehmood, passed away at 2: AM in Mumbai. His last rites will be performed in Santacruz burial ground after today's afternoon prayers, confirms his family friend. 

"My father passed away at 2.00 am following his battle with stomach cancer. He was in a critical condition for the last 17 days. He had lost 35-40 kgs in a month," Hasnain Sayyed, Junior Mehmood's younger son, said as quoted by news agency PTI.

On Tuesday, actors Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar visited Mehmood at his residence after he expressed a desire to meet them. Jeetendra had shared screen space with the actor in several movies, including "Suhaag Raat" and "Caravan".

The 67-year-old actor has been featured in over 200 films in different languages. He is best known for movies like 'Brahmachari' (1968), 'Mera Naam Joker' (1970), 'Parvarish' (1977), and 'Do Aur Do Paanch' (1980).

Apart from these, the other popular films include, "Kati Patang", "Hare Raama Hare Krishna", "Geet Gaata Chal", "Imaandaar", "Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri", "Aaj Ka Arjun", "Gurudev", "Chhote Sarkar" and "Judaai".
