Kajol recently made headlines as she shared a post on her social media handles regarding taking a short break from digital platforms, where several netizens touted the act to be a promotional strategy for her upcoming show.

Well, it turned out to be true as hours later after sharing the cryptic post, the actress unveiled the first motion poster of her upcoming show 'The Trial.' The actress also announced that she will be hosting an event on June 12, at NMACC studio theater.

Kajol will be joined by Gaurav Banerjee, Deepak Sharma, Jisshu Sen Gupta, Sheeba Chaddha, Kubbra Sait, Suparn Verma, and Gaurav Pandey at the event. Sharing the update on her social media, the actress wrote, "BREAKING NEWS The Trial Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha. 12th June 2023. In the presence of Kajol along with Gaurav Banerjee, Deepak Sharma, Jisshu Sen Gupta, Sheeba Chaddha, Kubbra Sait, Suparn Verma, and Gaurav Pandey."

Earlier this morning, Kajol announced that she would be taking a short break from social media over the explicit toxicity shared on the platforms. However, as the news was unexpected, she also deleted all her Instagram posts which thus raised the curiosity bar.

Sharing the post she wrote, "Facing the toughest trial of my life." The 'Salaam Venky' actress thus caught the attention of her fans as the post soon went viral. However, a section of netizens touted this act as a part of her upcoming Hotstar show titled, 'The Trial.'

'The Trial' is an adaptation of the US show 'The Good Wife' which follows the story of a woman who returns to her profession as a lawyer after her husband is engaged in a scandal that lands him in jail, and is titled, 'The Trial-Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka.'

According to a report of Republic Bharat, Kajol also shared her excitement about his new venture, where she said, "I have been playing multiple characters throughout my acting journey, but the firsts are always special. The beauty of OTT platforms is that they allow creators and actors to reinvent and experiment with different formats, and with Disney+ Hotstar."

She further said, "The Good Wife, that's exactly what I got! As a career first move, I will be playing a lawyer in my first-ever series, directed by the fabulous Suparn Verma. I'm excited to be sharing more about the show and the character I play, so stay tuned."

Talking about her work front, Kajol was last seen in 'Salaam Venky' where she essays the role of a struggling mother. The film garnered positive acclaim from the critics but did low numbers at the box office.

She will next be seen in Netflix's much-awaited anthology film 'Lust Stories 2.' The film will be released on June 29 and also features Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma, Angad Bedi, Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, and others.
