After Bengaluru saw a rush of bookings, attention now turns to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Advance bookings are now available in Telangana as well. The delay in starting the bookings was due to the makers waiting for the approval of ticket rate hikes. Some theater chains have already begun accepting bookings, and full-scale bookings are expected to follow shortly. However, fans are currently facing technical issues while trying to book tickets, a common occurrence for films starring Prabhas, Tollywood’s biggest PAN star.
In Andhra Pradesh, bookings will start once the new government order regarding ticket rate hikes is issued. It will be interesting to see if Kalki 2898 AD surpasses the opening day collections of Salaar.
Kalki 2898 AD is a highly-anticipated film set in a distant future where the city of Kasi endures in a desertified world under the oppressive rule of Supreme Yaskin's totalitarian regime. The city is overshadowed by the Complex, a massive floating structure resembling an inverted pyramid. Blending Indian mythology with a dystopian setting, the story spans millennia, starting from the events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC, marking the beginning of Kali Yuga, and extending to the futuristic year of 2898 AD. At the heart of the narrative is the mysterious figure of Kalki, regarded as the tenth and final avatar of Vishnu, around whom the story unfolds.
Costing Rs 600 crore (US$72 million) to produce, Kalki 2898 AD is among the most expensive Indian films. The music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary, and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
