Kangana Ranaut Performs Ravan Dahan: Actor Kangana Ranaut performed the Ravan Dahan at New Delhi’s Lav Kush Ramleela on the occasion of Dusshera. According to Arjun Singh, who serves as the president of the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee of Delhi, the recent edition of the event held at the Red Fort marked a significant milestone. It was the first time in the event's 50-year history that a woman took on the role of igniting the effigy of the demon king by using a bow and arrow.

For the auspicious day, Kangana, who is gearing up for her upcoming movie Tejas, donned an orange-coloured Banarasi saree accessorised with heavy jewellery. She parted her hair in a neat bun paired with a band made of gajra and red roses.

Kangana also dropped some pictures on her Instagram handle and wrote in Hindi, “Today I got the privilege of burning Ravana in Delhi's famous Love Kush Ram Leela. Just like Shri Ram fights with Ravana, the same way our country's soldiers fight with the giants. Hail Lord Ram.”

The president of Ramleela Committee of Delhi revealed that the decision was taken in a nod to the Women’s Reservation Bill, recently passed by the Parliament. Singh told PTI, “Be it a film star or a politician, every year we have a VIP grace our event. In the past, we have had former President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi do the honours.”

He further added, “Among film stars, Ajay Devgn and John Abraham have been here. Last year, Prabhas did the Ravan Dahan. For the first time in 50 years of our event, it will be a woman who will do the Ravan Dahan.”
