Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is currently a candidate from the BJP for Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi Lok Sabha seat, compared herself with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. She said that she receives the same amount of love and respect as Big B in the film industry. During a speech at an election rally, Kangana was observed addressing the crowd when she delivered this statement.
Kangana Ranaut Compares Herself To Amitabh Bachchan
She said, “Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai. (The whole country is surprised… Whether I go to Rajasthan, or I go to West Bengal, or I go to Delhi, or I go to Manipur, it feels like there is so much love and respect. I can confidently say that after Amitabh Bachchan ji, if anyone gets such love and respect in the industry, I get it.)”
She further added, “In 2016, Kangana Ranaut and Amitabh Bachchan were recipients of National Awards for their exceptional acting. Kangana was honoured with the Best Actress award for her role in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, while Amitabh received the Best Actor award for his performance in ‘Piku’. Following her acclaimed performances in ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, Amitabh Bachchan showed his appreciation by sending Kangana bouquets along with a letter praising her work.
On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in Emergency, which will hit the theatres on June 14, 2024. The script for the film was crafted by Ritesh Shah, who previously wrote the screenplay for Kangana Ranaut's movie 'Dhaakad', which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office.
In addition to Kangana, the film features a notable cast including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade, all of whom play significant roles.
