Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated movie Emergency’s trailer has been released today. The movie is based on India’s 1975-76 Emergency period and the actress will be seen playing the role of first female Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. The political drama will showcase the contribution of then Defense Minister Jagjivan Ram during the time of Emergency. The role of Jagjivan Ram was played by late actor Satish Kaushik. The actor passed away in March 2023 after a heart attack. Today, at the trailer launch event of Emergency, Kangana Ranaut remembered the veteran actor.
Kangana said at the event, “Aaj woh hamare beech mein nahi hain, lekin jab koi insaan bahut sachche man ka hota hai, jab koi insaan bahut acche aur nek hote hain, to wo jaate waqt bhi kisi ko kasht deke nahi jaate hain. Aise hi hamare bahut aadarniya Satish ji. Unhone apna saara kaam khatam kiya, humse baatein ki, dubbing bhi poori ki. Iss tarah se woh gaye ki hume laga jaise unhone jaan-bujhkar hume soch-samajh ke alvida kaha. Unke samman mein, we will observe silence for sometime (Today, he is no longer among us, but when a person is truly sincere, when someone is very good-hearted and noble, they don’t leave this world causing pain to others. Such was our very respected Satish Ji. He completed all his work, spoke with us, even finished his dubbing. He left in such a way that it felt like he deliberately and thoughtfully said goodbye to us).”
Emergency also stars Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Bhumika Chawla, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Christophe Guybet, Scott Alexander Young, R. Bhakti Klein and Adhir Bhat in key roles. The political drama is all set to hit theatres worldwide on 6th September 2024. The movie will focus primarily on India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s role in the periodic drama.
