Karan Johar Praises Priyanka Chopra's Hollywood Career: Priyanka Chopra is currently working in Hollywood. After leaving Bollywood a few years back, Priyanka decided to move to the West because she had "beef with people" in the Indian film industry. She has made India proud all over the world because of her accomplishments. In fact, Karan Johar, who has known Priyanka for a long time, is proud of her success in Hollywood.
During a recent interview with ET Canada, the Bollywood filmmaker was quizzed about Priyanka shifting from Bollywood to Hollywood. He said, "To see her (Priyanka Chopra) grow from strength to strength, and truly achieve the kind of success that she has on her own terms and the way she has gone about it, she is always wonderful on every platform that she has ever been on, everything that she ever stands for and represents… it is fantastic."
For the unversed, earlier this year, Priyanka Chopra had appeared on ‘Armchair Podcast,’ where she disclosed the reason behind her decision to quit Bollywood and sent shockwaves through the industry.
"I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me. I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break," she said.
On the work front, Karan Johar recently released his magnum opus titled 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role along with Alia Bhatt. The rest of the supporting cast included Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shabhan Azmi, Chandni Chaturvedi, Tota Roy Choudhury and Anjali Ananda.
Priyanka Chopra's forthcoming projects include the upcoming John Cena and Idris Elba-led Hollywood film 'Heads of State'. She is also slated to be a part of the upcoming Bollywood project titled 'Jee Le Zaraa', co-starring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. Her most recent role was in the Amazon Prime Video series 'Citadel' alongside Richard Madden.
