Kareena Kapoor Khan with her Laal Singh Chaddha co-star Aamir Khan recently graced the stage at the fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In her recent interview, Kareena who played the role of love interest of Khan in the movie, recalled the impact of the film's failure on her and the superstar. The film had high expectations and opened to mixed reviews.

 Kareena Kapoor during a roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, which was also joined by Vicky Kaushal, Shabana Azmi, Rajkummar Rao, and Anna Ben, recollected the time when Aamir Khan was deeply affected by the Laal Singh Chaddha's box office failure.

During the session, when the host brought up Kareena’s old statement about calling Aamir Khan and director Advait Chandan after the box office failure of Laal Singh Chaddha, responding to it, Kareena said that she is the 'most proudest' that they made the movie. She also stated that Laal Singh Chaddha was a beautiful and honest film. Heaping praise on her co-star, she called Aamir 'stalwart and legend' and revealed 'he was shattered.'

Further recounting memories of meeting Aamir at an event where he jokingly said, “Picture nahi chali humari na, tu baat toh karegi na mujhse? (Our movie didn’t work. You will still talk to me, right?)." While acknowledging his disappointment, Kareena expressed gratitude for her role in the film. “I feel what Rupa has done more for me than what a Singham (Again) can do."

 

About Laal Singh Chaddha

The comedy-drama helmed by Advait Chandan and written by Atul Kulkarni, is the remake of the 1994 American movie Forrest Gump, based on Winston Groom's novel. The film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh. The movie was released theatrically on August 11, 2022 and received mixed reviews. It underperformed at the box office.

Aamir is all set to come up with the film Sitaare Zameen Par. He will be seen alongside Genelia Deshmukh. He will also be playing the role of a producer for this project. Next in line, he has Lahore 1947 under his banner, Aamir Khan Productions. The film features Sunny Deol in the key role. The film also stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal.
