Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan is all set for the release of his much-anticipated movie Chandu Champion. Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, India's pioneering Paralympic gold medalist. After a long wait, the sports drama film is all set to hit the theatres on June 14, 2024, which shockingly coincides with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death anniversary. However, several reports claim that the late actor had a big connection with the Kartik Aaryan-starrer movie.
According to an earlier report by ETimes, sources from the entertainment industry have disclosed that before his shocking demise, Sushant Singh Rajput had agreed to take on another sports biopic project. This project, though untitled at the time, was centered around the extraordinary life of Murlikant Petkar, an army veteran who overcame physical challenges to become a successful athlete.
The report mentioned that in 2016, Sushant expressed keen interest in Petkar's story, finding it deeply inspiring. The late actor was captivated by Petkar's passion and determination to achieve his dreams, and he was eager to bring this inspiring tale to the screen.
Chandu Champion Trailer
Recently, makers unveiled the much-awaited trailer of 'Chandu Champion'. The trailer shows Kartik Aaryan as Chandu waking up from a coma in 1967 after a war injury. It follows his emotional journey, where he dreams of becoming a wrestler despite classmates mocking him with 'Chandu Champion' remarks. The trailer highlights his struggle to overcome challenges and remove that name from his life.
Sharing the trailer on his Instagram handle, Kartik wrote, "With immense pride and joy, sharing the trailer of my career’s toughest and most special film that too from my hometown Gwalior where i dreamt of becoming an actor#Chandu Champion 🇮🇳,, the story of a man who refused to surrenderHope it touches your heart, entertains and inspires you to achieve your goals just like India’s pride Mr Murlikant Petkar#ChanduChampion 14th June, 2024."
