The hoarding collapse in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar has tragically claimed 16 lives. Among the victims were Air Traffic Control (ATC) general manager Manoj Chansoria and his wife Anita, whose bodies were recovered on Wednesday, May 15. They were relatives of actor Kartik Aaryan. Despite his busy schedule promoting his upcoming film 'Chandu Champion,' Kartik attended their funeral on Thursday, May 16, at the Sahar crematorium.

On May 13, Mumbai was struck by a massive dust storm, resulting in the tragic incident where a hoarding collapsed in the Ghatkopar area, claiming the lives of 16 individuals. According to Indian Express report, the abovementioned couple on their way back to their home in Madhya Pradesh, had stopped at a petrol pump near the hoarding to refill their car's fuel tank. Tragically, the hoarding collapsed onto their vehicle, leading to their demise. Reports further indicated that they had traveled to Mumbai for visa-related matters as they intended to visit their son Yash in the United States.

The bodies of Manoj Chansoria and his wife were retrieved from the hoarding collapse site 50 hours after the tragic incident occurred. Their funeral took place at the Sahar crematorium on Thursday, with Kartik Aaryan and other family members reportedly in attendance.

What's up with Kartik Aaryan

Kartik is busy promoting his forthcoming movie, Chandu Champion. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film promises to showcase Kartik in a completely new light. Generating significant excitement, the movie's posters have already made waves on social media. Sharing the poster on his Instagram handle, Kartik penned, "The proudest moment of my career so far- playing a soldier of the Glorious Indian Army, one of the many facets of Chandu Champion’s life !! Glimpse of the 8-min-long single take War Sequence Salute to the Indian Armed Forces! #ChanduChampion." He further disclosed that the film's trailer is set to debut tomorrow, May 18, 2024, in Kartik's hometown, Gwalior.

Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan have teamed up to produce 'Chandu Champion,' an eagerly awaited film scheduled for release on June 14, 2024. This partnership is expected to have a significant impact on audiences worldwide, aiming to deeply resonate with viewers.
