The South Korean entertainment industry is in mourning following the sudden passing of actress Kim Sae Ron on February 16, 2025. The 24-year-old actress, known for her memorable performances, has received an outpouring of love and tributes from fellow celebrities who have come forward to honour her legacy.
Many celebrities have sent condolence wreaths to the funeral hall at Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, where a private ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 19. Among those paying tribute were veteran actor Won Bin and his wife, actress Lee Na Young. Won Bin had shared the screen with Kim Sae Ron in the 2010 hit film The Man from Nowhere, where she played the role of Jung So Mi. Their on-screen bond left a lasting impression on audiences, making his tribute especially poignant.
Joining them in remembrance were K-pop idol and actor Cha Eunwoo, Ma Dong Seok, IU, Gong Myung, Seo Ye Ji, and the members of FT Island. Many of these celebrities have worked alongside Kim Sae Ron or admired her from afar, and their gestures of condolence reflect the respect and affection she earned throughout her career. Her former agency, Fantagio, also paid tribute, underscoring the deep impact she had during her time there.

Beyond the wreaths, several celebrities took to social media to share their grief and honor Kim Sae Ron’s memory. Actress Kim Ok Bin posted an image of chrysanthemums—a traditional symbol of mourning—along with a heartfelt message wishing her peace. Similarly, Seo Ye Ji and Seo Ha Jun also shared images of chrysanthemums, expressing their sorrow and respect for the late actress.
Kim Min Che, who starred alongside Kim Sae Ron in The Neighbors (2012), reminisced about their time working together by posting a scene from the film. She described the experience as a privilege and hoped that Kim Sae Ron had found peace. Former Fiestar member Yel expressed her devastation through a tribute featuring dandelion seeds, recalling her interactions with the late actress and describing her as a kind and loyal person. Yoo Ara, a former Hello Venus member, expressed regret over not having shared kinder words with Kim Sae Ron, vowing to cherish her memory.
Actor Kim Soo Kyum also mourned her loss, posting an image of Kim Sae Ron smiling and wishing her happiness in the afterlife. Meanwhile, singer Migyo used her platform to call out online trolls, highlighting the damage caused by malicious comments and the toll they take on celebrities.
As tributes continue to pour in, it is evident that Kim Sae Ron’s passing has left a deep void in the industry. Despite facing personal struggles, she was widely recognized for her talent and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her legacy will live on through her performances and the memories shared by those who knew and admired her. Her funeral will be held privately, as per her family's wishes, allowing loved ones to say their final goodbyes in peace.
